The World Series of Golf, Inc. is a Nevada corporation that owns registration marks and patent pending playing format utility applications. The primary registration mark - the World Series of Golf® was issued in 2005. The Company will operate a number of events under the World Series of Golf® banner.
- The World Series of Golf® is a new golf tournament format incorporating the great game of golf with the wildly popular game of poker. The World Series of Golf® is the Texas Hold ‘Em of golf. A hole-by-hole hit and bet, no limit amateur prize tournament.
- The inaugural World Series of Amateur Golf® event was played in Las Vegas May 13-16, 2007 at Tom Fazio designed Primm Valley.
- The World Series of Golf® tournament was strictly an amateur prize tournament. Each player was allowed to bring a financial advisor/caddy on the course with them.
- Players were pre-flighted through a registration process assuring they play against those with similar skill level.
- The World Series of Golf® format is played in groups of 3-6 players, depending on the round.
- The players do not play against the field, they play against those in their group.
- Players who advanced out of the first round got paid $10,000. The payout for the finalists were $60,000, $50,000, $40,000, $30,000 and $250,000 to the winner of the event.
- The World Series of Golf® tournament allows players to compete in successive elimination matches and use the pressure of betting and then golf skills to make their shot.
- Players arrived on Sunday for an extravaganza opening night draw party at The Mirage. Closing night was a Las Vegas extravaganza which featured entertainment and check presentations.
- The World Series of Golf was viewed in over 2 million households on NBC Sports and had over 96 million internet impressions. It aired on SKY Sports in Europe. It was featured in local, national and regional coverage including the AP wire service.
- The ‘08 event will be played the week of May 12-15 at the Paiute Golf Resort.
- Our objective is to build a global brand with the finals bringing players from all over the world to Las Vegas and creating the largest payout of any golf tournament in the world. The World Series of Golf is set to launch the World Series of Golf Europe and The World Series of Golf Online.
- There are a number of other events under the World Series of Golf® banner that are under consideration (i.e. the World Series of Celebrity Golf, the World Series of Golf NBA Legends, the World Series of Men’s Professional Golf, etc.). All of these events will be played under the same patent pending format - a Texas Hold ‘Em poker format in a golf tournament.
